Success Story of the euro at Airports and in In-flight Magazines
MEDIA CONSULTA promotes the European Single Currency
A decade of the euro: MEDIA CONSULTA (MC) implements the advertising campaign “EMU@10” for the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary, an in-flight and airport campaign informs about the success story of the euro and the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU).The campaign underlines the strategic significance of the EMU and should further encourage the acceptance of the single currency by citizens. Display ads are inserted within the in-flight magazines of ten different airlines: The euro is being presented as a currency that opens up Europe and has been established as a “Global Player”. The first display ads were published within the in-flight magazines of Germanwings in February. Further publications will follow in Ryanair, Easyjet, Air Berlin, TAP Portugal, Brussels Airlines, Aegean Airlines, Wizz Air, Air Baltic and Myair Magazine in April. Furthermore from April, advertising in the form of posters are to be placed in the most important airports of seven EU member states. The campaign is aimed at the travellers of Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands and Portugal.Since 2007, the MC network is successfully implementing “The euro, our currency” exhibition for the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs. After the launch in Belgium, the exhibition travelled to Malta, Cyprus, Slovakia, Germany and Portugal. In April and May 2009, the exhibition will stop off in Madrid.During the financial and economic crisis in recent months, the euro has especially provided stability.
